Kathy delights in inspiring others to grow personally and spiritually through the practices of yoga, dance and music.
Formerly a musician, she experienced a profound life change over 20 years ago when she discovered the joy of movement through folk dance. This deep connection of self and Spirit through movement eventually led Kathy to ballet, to Yoga, and to Kripalu YogaDance (formerly DansKinetics).
Kathy earned her DansKinetics/Yoga Dance certification from Kripalu Center in 2004. She returned to Kripalu in 2007 for Yoga teacher certification. She is a registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. In 2011, Kathy completed Level I certification in LifeForce Yoga for Depression and Anxiety, studying with LifeForce founder Amy Weintraub.
“Go in and in and turn away from nothing that you find.”
These words of poet Danna Faulds express Kathy’s philosophy of yoga practice and her goal in teaching. She guides you on an inward journey on which you learn to embrace—with compassion—all of your experience.
Yoga teaches that beneath our suffering we are already whole. Through the practice of yoga, you enter deeply into your own experience to rediscover that wholeness, the pure goodness that is already there.
With joy and compassion, Kathy encourages each student to discover the body’s inner wisdom through the play of stillness and motion, inward sensing and outward expression. For more information, visit Kathy’s website, www.dancingwisdom.com.
